Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation At Mercy Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center in affiliation with Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is proud to offer an ACGME accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program.
Mercy Medical Center is a 375-bed hospital with Level II Trauma Center serving the residents of Nassau and Suffolk counties. Mercy is also home to the largest Inpatient Rehabilitation facility (37 beds) on the South Shore of Nassau County, offering superior care for stroke, spinal cord injury, disabling arthritis, neurological disorders, and major orthopedic surgeries and neurosurgeries. As part of Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHSLI), and the residency’s longstanding partnerships with many top-rated institutions including NYU Winthrop Hospital, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, NYIT Sports Medicine and St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, our residents have premier training in numerous sub-specialities of Physiatry.
In addition to the extensive inpatient rehabilitation training provided by Mercy Medical Center, the PM&R residents are exposed to a comprehensive outpatient experience in subspecialties including general physiatry, interventional pain management, pain medicine, sports medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, neurology, pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric neurology, prosthetics and orthotics and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Our small program enables one on one clinical and professional mentorship throughout the continuum of residency training.
