Samaritan and Team of the Month for June 2016

Rich Helm, Public and External Affairs, is Samaritan of the Month for June. Rich, who joined Good Samaritan Hospital in 1997 as Multi Media Tech Specialist, is a talented professional who is the driving force behind multiple projects on-and off-site at Good Samaritan; whether working behind the scenes on meetings and conferences, taking photos for publications and marketing materials, filming videos, or putting together presentations and displays. He is always there when you need him to assist with projects and is a great strategic planner. His work on the Earth Day photo contest, sponsored by Good Samaritan’s Mission & Ministry Committee, from creating the judging process to battling various issues, shows his commitment to detail and excellence. His hours of work to film and edit the hospital’s national nurse’s week video, including conducting interviews, producing background music and acquiring props, made the it a tremendous success. Rich has a great sense of humor, is friendly and helpful and carries the mission of Catholic Health Services in his heart by giving 110%.
The Team of the Month for June is the Nurse Managers who represent professional, well-educated, compassionate, diplomatic multi-taskers who remain calm during a crisis. They are hard-working and dedicated to the patients they care for every day, they and their staff are always ready to implement best practices on their units. They work tirelessly to ensure their patients get the highest quality of care possible. Nurse managers are knowledgeable, skilled, service-oriented, team players. Whether they are conducting rounds, working on patient safety and satisfaction issues, improving employee engagement, conducting performance appraisals, learning new technologies or clinical advances or orienting new staff, they are always on top of things. The department’s hard work, dedication and accomplishment are truly deserving of the Team Award.
