Good Samaritan Hospital Presents ‘Aging Gracefully’ Workshop – Part of Good Sam University Series
Good Samaritan Hospital will sponsor an “Aging Gracefully” workshop on Wednesday, March 16, from 12:30 – 3:00 PM at the West Islip Fire Department. The event will feature lectures by Good Samaritan’s experts on topics including stroke prevention, dizziness and vertigo, and fall prevention, as well as screenings for balance, cholesterol, blood pressure and hearing. Light lunch will be served. Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required by calling (631) 376-4444.
“Aging Gracefully” is the first of three workshops scheduled for this spring as part of the hospital’s Good Sam University Lecture Series. Each workshop focuses on a different aspect of health maintenance and prevention as part of the hospital’s commitment to helping community members lead healthier lives. The next two programs will be “Women’s Wellness” on April 13 and “Food for Thought” on May 12. Good Sam University is sponsored by an educational grant from Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
Speakers at the March 16 workshop include Robert Gargano, MD, Chief of Otolaryngology; Nancy LaReddola, RN, MS, stroke coordinator; Robin Hellreich, RN, MS, NE-BC, nurse manager, stroke unit; and Susan Cullen, PT, DPT, physical therapist. “Aging Gracefully” is sponsored by Teacher’s Federal Credit Union.
