Good Samaritan Hospital Nursing Assistant Named Samaritan of the Month

June 17th, 2014
Good Samaritan Hospital’s Samaritan of the Month in June for the satellites was Natalie Brown. She has worked at the Martin Luther King Jr., Health Center in Wyandanch as a certified nursing assistant since 2006. In addition to being the liaison to the Cancer Screening Program (CSP) she delivers patient care in the Family Practice Department, Pediatrics and OB/GYN. As the CSP liaison, she advocates for the uninsured and underinsured in the community to obtain screening and diagnostic services for breast cancer and charity care services when needed.

Ms. Brown recently earned her associate’s degree from Farmingdale College. She resides in Dix Hills.

Since 1999, Good Samaritan Hospital has recognized exemplary employees that consistently go above and beyond their assigned duties and live by the hospital mission to promote excellence in care and commit to those in need. Nominations are submitted for review to a committee from co-workers, supervisors and patients. Samaritans are surprised in their department with a bouquet of flowers. A Samaritan of the Month presentation is held at the hospital with their co-workers and family.
