Good Samaritan Hospital Names New Director of Pastoral Care

Deacon Paul Jennings has been appointed Director of Pastoral Care for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.
In this role, Jennings will oversee all aspects of the Pastoral Care Department in support of patients, families and staff. The department focuses on providing spiritual support to patients throughout their stay at the medical center. In addition, to the department provides liturgies, rituals and services throughout the year to accommodate those of all religious denominations.

Most recently, Deacon Jennings served as Director of Pastoral Care at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Prior to his role in health care ministry he served as Regional General Manager of the Southeast for United Technologies’ Carrier Corporation subsidiary and Facilities General Manager for Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk ,CT.

Deacon Paul was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 2002 in the Diocese of Bridgeport, CT, and was assigned to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Stamford. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in religious studies from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He is a board-certified chaplain by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Fourth Degree Color Guard and is a Past Grand Knight.

Deacon Paul and his wife, Janie, have two adult children, Paul Jr. and Julia. He currently resides in Stamford, CT.
