Good Samaritan Hospital Appoints New Medical Staff President

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center’s Associate Director of Surgery
Anthony J. Capizzi, MD, was recently appointed president of the hospital’s medical staff. He has been affiliated with Good Samaritan’s Department of Surgery, specializing in breast surgery, for more than 25 years and serves on the hospital’s Breast Cancer Leadership Committee. In addition, Dr. Capizzi is an active member of the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition. Both groups are committed to providing timely and expert care and support until the completion of treatment and beyond.

Dr. Capizzi previously held the position of vice president of the hospital’s medical staff prior to this appointment. His responsibilities as medical staff president will include overseeing the medical board and representing the medical staff at the hospital’s board of trustee meetings. Dr. Capizzi succeeds Good Samaritan Hospital’s Chief of Urology Joseph Fisch, MD.

Dr. Capizzi earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his surgical residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He resides in Babylon.
