Good Samaritan Hospital and Suffolk County DOH Offer Overdose Prevention Program

Good Samaritan Hospital, in partnership with the Suffolk County Department of Health (DOH), is hosting a free Narcan Training Class on Tuesday, October 28, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the West Islip Fire Department, 309 Union Blvd. The class is a certified opioid prevention training program approved by the DOH. Training includes: recognition of opioid overdose, administration of intranasal Narcan, a drug used to counter the effects of opioid overdose, such as heroin or morphine,  and the steps to take until emergency services arrive. All participants will receive a certificate of completion and emergency resuscitation kit.
