Good Samaritan Honors Its Dedicated Volunteers

Good Samaritan Hospital Copiague/Massapequa/Amityville Guild’s member Marie Nicharico, Great South Bay Guild’s member Gloria Bracken, Lindenhurst/North Babylon Guild’s Vera Meinhold (sitting: L-R) have collectively reached an amazing milestone, having contributed 9,000 and 8,000 hours respectively in volunteer work. Copiague/Massapequa/Amityville Guild’s member Eleanor Lloyd and Lindenhurst/North Babylon Guild’s Kenneth Weckerle (standing: L-R) have collected 8,000 hours each in volunteer work. Missing from photo Dix Hills/Deer Park Guild’s Barbara Kenny (9,000 hours). The Guilds are groups of individuals who work diligently for the benefit of the medical center. These volunteers organize community activities, staff the hospital gift shop, hold annual fund- raising events and operate an offsite thrift shop to support Good Samaritan. In 2013, the Guilds raised more than $250,000, with more than 40,000 hours of service donated as well.
