Early Arrival Marks 1st Baby of 2017 at Good Sam
West Islip, NY – Aaron Olumide could not wait to see his mom and dad. The baby boy’s early arrival marked Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center’s first baby of the 2017.
“We still thought we had 10 more weeks but he surprised us,” said Aaron’s dad, Damilare. “Now he’s here and we’re happy to see him”
Aaron’s early arrival was so unexpected that Damilare and his wife, Afolake, still have not decided on a middle name for their baby boy.
Delivered at 9:18 am by Laura Falkowski, DO, Aaron weighed three pounds, six ounces. He is the first child for the West Babylon couple.
As the “First Family of 2017,” Good Samaritan treated the Olumide family to a private, complimentary room and a gift basket with clothing and accessories provided by Bubble in Babylon and My Little Rascal in Islip.
A gift basket and complimentary room were also offered to the family that delivered the first baby girl at Good Samaritan.
Each year, approximately 2,800 babies are delivered at Good Samaritan. In addition to maternity services, the Medical Center’s Pediatric Department offers a comprehensive continuum of care, ensuring that newborns through adolescents receive expert care close to home. The hospital also offers pediatric emergency services, a Child Life program and advanced neonatal services. Additionally, the offsite Center for Pediatric Specialty Care and Center for Medically Complex Children address complicated health issues.
