Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center has received the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) Award for a second time in recognition of its International Board Certified Lactation Consultants® (IBCLCs) and for providing a lactation program five to seven days a week for breastfeeding mothers.  Good Samaritan is one of only five hospitals in New York State to receive this honor.

In the nine months since Good Samaritan Hospital surgeon Jonathan Klonsky, MD, successfully performed gastric bypass surgery on 25-year-old Elyse Capozza, she has lost 151 pounds, works in her field of teaching and is an inspiration to others wanting to get healthier. Today she is a determined and disciplined 26-year-old woman with endless opportunities.
