Course descriptions are attached below.

Cesarean Section Class

This free class will prepare expectant couples for what to expect in the event of a planned or unplanned C/Section.  This class is a must for all couples, even those who are not anticipating a C/Section, to help prepare for the unexpected.

“First Time Around” Prepared Childbirth Course

This essential course for first-time parents prepares mothers and their coaches to safely manage early labor at home and prepares them for their upcoming labor and birth experience.  Couples will learn what to expect in the Birthing Room; how to work as a team; and how to care for themselves and their newborn child.  Couples will also learn the breathing and relaxation techniques that will help them during their labor and will take a tour of the “Birthplace”.  Couples attending the “First Time Around” Prepared Childbirth Course will come away feeling prepared and equipped for the experience that lies ahead.  Weekday evening and weekend classes available.

Big Brother/ Big Sister Class

This wonderful class for children ages 3 and up helps older brothers and sisters to feel important and learn about their special role in the family.  Big brothers and sisters will learn how to be a “mother’s helper”, and will be taught how a baby grows inside mommy, newborn safety and how to help to diaper and hold a baby.  At the completion of the class, graduates will be taken on a tour of the newborn nursery and receive official Big Brother/ Big Sister certificates.          

Early Pregnancy Class

Helps expectant couples learn how to manage their pregnancy and provides them with the knowledge to feel comfortable and secure with their new role in life.  Topics include fetal growth and development, body changes during pregnancy, common tests and procedures and prenatal nutrition and exercise. 

Caring for Your Baby Class

Helps expectant couples prepare for their new roles as by providing important information on infant nutrition, health maintenance, common illnesses  and “How To’s” of bathing,

diapering and dressing. 

Grandparents’ Class

Classes prepare new or expectant grandparents for their special role discussing current practices in childbirth, advances in infant nutrition and child care, how to babyproof your home and more.  

“Breastfeeding Your Baby” Course

This class provides practical information to guide the expectant couple towards a successful nursing experience.  Topics include positioning the baby, getting started, avoiding common problems and pumping and storing milk.  

New Mothers’ Support Group

New mothers and their babies meet for 5 weeks to socialize and discuss important topics of mutual interest such as adjusting to parenthood, infant growth and development, feeding and nutrition, sleep patterns and infant health and safety.  FREE!

Infant Massage Classes

Four, 1 ½ hour sessions. Designed to teach parents the soothing techniques of Infant Massage.  Parents learn to relieve gas and colic, recognize and relieve tension and fussiness and foster a special way of communicating with their baby.

Mother’s Circle of Hope Support Group

 You are not alone!  This free group provides support and education to mothers experiencing depression or anxiety during pregnancy or after birth.  Meet other moms and learn the steps to feeling better and speeding your recovery.  You will be well with help! Eight, 1 ½ hour sessions.
