Good Samaritan Hospital Holds Service in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Good Samaritan Hospital employees and community members gathered in the hospital’s St. Vincent de Paul Chapel on Monday, January 18 to pay tribute to the late civil rights leader, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The moving service featured personal remarks and prayer by the Rev. Dr. Daris Dixon-Clark of Bay Shore First Baptist Church. Four members of the Bay Shore First Baptist Church Men’s Choir lifted their powerful voices in an inspirational musical tribute.

This marked the fourth year that Good Samaritan has held a service commemorating Dr. King’s birthday.

“Dr. King brought a message of peaceful coexistence to our nation, and his words are as relevant today as they were 50 years ago,” said Deacon Paul Jennings, Director of Pastoral Care at Good Samaritan. Deacon Jennings and other members of the Pastoral Care Department helped coordinate the service.
