Senior Services

One's senior years can be an exciting time filled with leisure activities, family visits, volunteering and travel plans. There are also unique concerns. With age, one begins to feel more vulnerable about personal health care issues.

Good Samaritan recognizes the changing concerns and needs of the more mature population and strives to implement new progressive programs in the field of geriatrics to meet these needs. The Senior Assessment Program evaluates an older person from an interdisciplinary perspective that encompasses the following domains: physical, economic, mental function, social and environmental. The interdisciplinary team of geriatric/gerontology professionals conducting the assessments includes a physician who is board certified in geriatrics, a geriatric nurse practitioner, a social worker and a case manager.

The team summarizes their findings collectively and makes recommendations for the present and future management of participants.
