Outstanding Honor for Senior Vice President of Nursing at Good Samaritan
West Islip, NY – Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center’s Senior Vice President of Nursing Patricia Hogan, RN, MA, CNAA, was honored/will be honored at the Zonta Club of Suffolk County’s “Women of the Year 2007” event. Ms. Hogan joined Good Samaritan in 2002 as the Senior Vice President of Nursing. Prior to her appointment at Good Samaritan, she served as Director of Patient Care Operations for Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She is a member of the New York Organization of Nurse Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tou Honor Society and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In 2006, under Ms. Hogan’s leadership, Good Samaritan was named a recipient of the Magnet award for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This designation is one of the highest levels of recognition a hospital can receive and was the result of a rigorous evaluation that included extensive interviews and reviews of nursing services, clinical outcomes and patient care.

Ms. Hogan stated, “My current role enables me to positively influence the Good Samaritan community by working to ensure and adequate and healthy nursing workforce, in times where the profession faces serious shortages. Through the spirit of continued collaboration and community partnerships we can ensure that our children and grandchildren will be met by a nurse at Good Samaritan’s front door.”
