Good Samaritan Newborn Receives Gifts from Girl Scout Troop 1239

 

West Islip, NY – Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center patient Rosalba Rochia and her husband Matt were the lucky recipients of a Girl Scout Troop 1239 project.

The Copaigue Troop 1239 Leader, Cynthia Urban, had troop members donate new clothing, toys and supplies to be given to the first girl born on October 31, 2007. The occasion commemorates the birthday of Juliet Lowe, the founder of Girl Scouts. The troop displayed the gifts in two baskets and Ms. Urban and troop member Caitlyn Urban delivered them to the Mrs. Rochia’s room at Good Samaritan on the afternoon of the 31st. Both Mr. & Mrs. Rocchio were there, and were surprised and delighted to receive all of the beautiful gifts in the overflowing baskets. Their daughter, Alessia Maria was born at 1:56 AMand weighed 7 pounds and was 183/4 inches long.
